Join in the Calling by Todd Pierce
Hey all -
These are some quotes from Romans 10 as the writer is expressing his desire in life and encouraging the other believers to join him in the calling. "Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, have not submitted to the righteousness of God."
"The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
"How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?
As it is written:
How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!"
I am not real sure what things were like in Paul's day, but it seems like the people of God were faced with similar struggles that we have today. I know that each of you reading this have a heart for God and want to be a part of His work on the earth right now. But we, like the people who received the letter from Paul, are living in tension between our earthly labors (i.e. making a living) and doing the work of the ministry. I believe with all my heart that each of you have a full-time ministry right where you are at. Our Father wants to use you in every aspect of your life. But, there is still a huge need for people to be sent to preach, so people can hear and be saved. I am gifted and called to preach and have been given massive opportunities to reach the people who don't know the truth. I have been sent by my Pastor and church (Andy Taylor), but I am writing this to ask for your help in being mobilized. We as a ministry have been given opportunities all over this planet (30 states, Russia, Mongolia, Bolivia, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Canada) and my family and I are in agreement that we should go. We are in real need of funding, so please ask our Father if this is the work you should support. If not, please commit your year-end gifts and 2012 finances to some ministry that is preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom to the lost. We are gearing up for a wild 2012. Let me know if you are on board.

Faith & Family Night at Albuquerque
Hello Family~
Remember when Jesus taught us to pray? He first of all gave us permission to speak to God as Father, then He taught us to pray His Kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. I'm sure I don't understand the fullness of what all that means and I'm sure we won't see the fulfillment of it 'til the return of Christ. But, until that occurs, His sons and daughters should live out His will and do it in His Kingdom order while we are here. We as a ministry believe that this is not just a prayer but a mandate on the lives of His people. As I have just returned from Albuquerque, I have it on my heart to share what has happened in that context.
We've been taught by the world system how to measure results and evaluate how we are doing. In many ways those evaluations may not line up at all with what our Father values. This last week, Albuquerque provided us a great opportunity to be about the Father's Kingdom and in many ways we were able to see the results of our efforts. But I think about the standard of Jesus. remember when Jesus was informed that John the Baptist was in jail in Luke 7:18-23? Jesus said "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor. Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me." Jesus was setting a precedence for what it looked like to do the Father's will and show the Kingdom here on earth.
Last Thursday, I was in a meeting room filled with people who had given their time and energy to come and serve as counselors for our Faith and Family Night on Friday. I tried to give them the details of how I would utilize them in the closing of our event and how they could most effectively use the materials provided by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Although the instructions I gave were important, all I could think of was how pleased our Father must be at that very moment. Before one song was sung or one word preached, I felt His pleasure because people from different parts of the Country, who didn't know each other, who were part of different churches, all came together to try to do what Jesus did. With my own sons, I have found this to be true - the greatest joy I receive is when I see them put their selfish desires aside and work together to try and accomplish something for me. With this Albuquerque event, there were nearly 200 volunteers who presented themselves to our Father as co-laborers. On Friday night in Albuquerque at the Ty Murray Invitational - Built Ford Tough event, the gospel of the Kingdom was "preached to the poor." For those of you who bought seats for others to fill, we want you to know that we had 100% redemption and all 1,000 tickets allotted were used.
The two youngest Pierce boys and I spent four days getting home from the event as we camped our way through Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. We rock climbed, discovered fossils, chased jack rabbits, caught lizards and ate doughnuts. We arrived home today (Thursday) and I will leave Saturday for Kansas City, MO for ministry at the PBR event being held there.
Soon we will have a video processed for each of you to see what happened at the Faith and Family Night in Albuquerque. Until then, I just want to give you my thanks for believing in us and for helping us accomplish these great events.
